Faith Action Development Organisation – Teso (FADO –T) is a Faith-based Rural-Poverty-Alleviation-focused charitable development NGO registered in Uganda in 2005 with the National NGO Board. It is operating initially in Kumi District (north-eastern Uganda) from where it will extend to cover other districts in the Teso sub-region.
FADO-T VISION:
FADO-T's vision is "Spiritually and Socio-Economically Transformed rural communities in the Teso Sub-region of Eastern Uganda."
FADO-T MISSION:
FADO-T's mission is "To facilitate the spiritual & socio-economic empowerment of rural communities for sustainable Transformational Development in Teso sub-region."
FADO-T MAIN OBJECTIVES:
1. To facilitate and promote sustainable Community Transformational Development for community Shalom, through empowerment of communities as whole entities, based on their own initiatives, knowledge and resourcefulness to become self-sustaining or sustainable and capable of robust response to disasters and of caring for the most vulnerable.
2. To guide and ensure the addressing of individual people’s whole needs for productive engagement in and contribution to the empowerment of their communities.
3. To employ a balanced view of humanity in development, which, recognizes, both the sinful, hence imperfect or flawed nature of humanity which impairs proper development; and the fact that every individual has a God-given human dignity as made in the image of God, and giftedeness to be treated with respect, appreciation and welcomed to full participation.
4. To apply biblical ethics and principles to guide a development process that establishes God's Kingdom and its values, e.g. a God-given human vocation of stewardship for the proper handling, distribution and sharing of God-given resources, and justice & truth to govern all relationships & dealings.
FADO-T in its Christian Holistic Approach is fighting rural poverty with communities by integrating activities which, fall into four major areas namely:
- Health
- Education
- Agriculture & Rural Transformation (spelling HEART - Capturing God's Heart for the Poor)
- Christian Outreach Programme (spelling COP - Christian Ethics guiding actions as Cops)
Underpinning FADO-T's operations is Jesus' own Mission that He “came to seek and save the Lost”
