FADO-T through its Health Programme aims at promoting Holistic well-being and good health for all in rural communties in Teso sub-region by addressing critical Health needs. One of these critical needs is Palliative Care for Home Based Care to give dignity and hope to those faced with terminal illnesses. They suffer acute pain in squalid conditions often abandoned to die alone by their relatives & friends
FADO-T in partnership with Ngora Freda Carr, a Mission Hospital, is addressing this need through this Hospice Project initiated in 2006. Some training facilitation for a multi-disciplinary team has been provided by Hospicen Africa Uganda (HAU) and Paliative Care Association Uganda (PCAU) with funding from Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB).
Another partnership arangement through the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa (FHSSA) with Odyssey Health Care, in Palm Springs, Rancho Ca. USA, is currently giving general funding.
