The Agriculture & Rural Intensification Programme

The main objective is agricultural and rural intensification that leads to transformational and sustainable development and environmental recovery, protection and conservation in the rural areas of Teso sub-region.  Increased Agricultural production for the attainment of sustainability in both household incomes and food security accompanied by improvement of rural conditions, infrastructure and social services.

Current Activities:  Activities in this programme have stressed sensitisation and introduction of new and improved methods of agriculture for food production and some activities for income generation like vegetable growing.

The major challenge for this programme has been inadequate funding which has limited project initiatives and introduction of technological breakthroughs needed to boost efforts in production.
